On Saturday, Sept 24th, Monria held its Winners Circle Event for the winners from the 5-week Monria Round Robin Tournament, and specifically, from the 24 hr Saturday Assaults. Only the winners from these 24 hr Saturday Assaults were eligible to advance to the Winners Circle Event.

There were 29 winners in all, but only 13 chose to participate. Each individual got 3 practice runs on an aerial obstacle course built by Monria's Ninija Wizard, Oberon NightSeer, and then a 4th run which was timed in competition with the others for a coveted 1st, 2nd or 3rd place PED prize.

Anhithe manned the ground televator and scanned each individual for any type of speed buffs, including rings, Cyrene Mazehammer (don't even know what this is but seems it has an enhancement of some sort), and even pets, which weren't allowed. It was helpful to have a low inventory weight, and wear nothing but clothing. We wanted everyone to have a fair chance with their timed run.

Obie manned the Welcome platform and lowered a drawbridge to an additional arrival platform that was away from the Welcome platform in case we ended up with an intruder. If a person was cleared by Anhithe and showed up on the arrival platform, then Obie allowed the person to cross the bridge to the Welcome platform. Obie also captured each individual's camera so he could see where they were on the course and if there was any need for assistance, like if someone were to get stuck on something.

Kendra escorted each individual up to the Start / Finish Line where I was waiting. Prior to the individual coming up to the course for their turn, I invited them to the event channel where they were given instructions along with helpful information without giving anything away. There was additional information at the Start / Finish Line for each individual to read as well that gave them guidance. I also ran the stop watch. Once the participant completed their timed run, they were muted from the event channel.

When the participant made it back to the Start / Finish Line, Kendra would escort them back to the Welcome platform where she would show them where to stand and jump the rail to the ground. If done right and you aim for the road, you won't die. However, only 2 of the 13 survived (Leon and Gothgorath). There was some fun banter about Kendra sending everyone to their death. She even died herself when she jumped.

I wasn't able to capture video of each participant because I had to run the stop watch and record the data, so I made a video of myself walking the course so that everyone could see what it was like. I stopped along the way to show some spectacular views as well.

I sped up the video a bit so that it wasn't so long, but I think you'll get an idea of what the participants had to do. However, after 3 practice runs, they were still nervous about running the course to get a good time. You had to choose where to run and where to walk, but some threw all caution to the wind and just took the risk to run where it was definitely dangerous to run. After all, if you fell during your timed run and died, you were eliminated from the competition.

It happened to only one person. :(

It was told that while the winners were anxiously waiting for their turn, Anhithe, Rosa, Raine, bluu and others were providing the entertainment. Ant was throwing candy and other things on the ground and you know what candy means. It has become somewhat of a staple that Ant's randomness can explode at any given moment, but we're like that on the Moon -- random crazy fun. :D

Monria's awesome Ninja Wizard created an aerial obstacle course that invites fear, the unknown, unexpected surprises, and heart racing moments that have you catching your breath. I could tell that there was even a level of anxiety while I was counting down to send each participant off on their timed run. I intentionally paused after 3 2 1 and typing GO for that added moment of elevating the adrenaline. :p

With the Monria Team, and Team Obie, you just never know what you're going to get. :clap

I captured video footage of myself jumping from the Welcome platform where the aerial obstacle course is to show everyone that if done right, you can survive a 749 meter fall. Leon did it, Goth did it, and the trick is to aim for the road and not get your avatar too close to the rock formation or that can end it all right there.
